Fancy Mug 01

I set out to create a mug like no other that truly felt like a reflection of myself as an artist. I had just received news that I would be going to France to do an artist residency and I wanted to create something that reflected both myself and a country famed for its wine culture. Thinking along the lines of wine, wine glasses, ceramic goblets, and my affinity for coffee, the fancy mug was born. 

since I made the first fancy mug, I’ve sipped my morning coffee out of it almost every single day. It’s a conversation starter, a mug meant to start your morning off with a smile at its simple extravagance. 

each mug in this series is completely unique from each other, from the shape of the goblet itself, to the handles, to the floral pattern carved or painted on each one. 

each mug holds between 10-14 ounces or liquid

made from stoneware clay, glazed with food-safe nontoxic glaze
